The second journey is a bit trite. The author's repeated pointing out how well off he is now compared to last time becomes annoying and detracts from the story. It's almost like they did it to show off|About the Author|After the death of his mother, Ivan Hodge was reflecting on the past. Sorting through the memorabilia of 35 years, he and his wife Beth realized that their 1961 trip across Europe and Asia had been a unique adventure for them and their family.
